// THE OPERATOR

Welcome to the digital logbook of VE6KIX. My name is David Lee, I am an amateur radio operator based in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. My primary interests include HF DXing, digital modes, and experimenting with antenna construction. When the weather is nice, I also enjoy portable operations during camping trips, SOTA and POTA activations.

If you hear me on the air, please give me a call. I am always happy to make a new contact, whether you are next door or DX.

Read the bands. Work the world.

PropDeck is the real-time HF propagation operations dashboard I built for the amateur-radio community — designed for serious DXers and digital-mode operators who want every piece of propagation intelligence on one screen.

What's on the deck: ▸ Live MUF, foF2, and VOACAP path coverage from your QTH
VCAP-BEST all-band view — the best band for every path at a glance
DRAP flare-absorption overlay (frequency-honest, per-hop) + aurora forecast
AI propagation summaries — flare-aware, in plain language
▸ Solar and space-weather indices (SFI, A/K-index, X-ray flux, solar wind, R/S/G scales)
Space-weather alerts — live R/S/G and aurora events, plus 24-hour forecast warnings
PSK Reporter spots + PSK Heat propagation heatmap, band-filtered
WSJT-X decodes live on the map — fed straight from the shack by PropDeck Companion
▸ DXpedition tracker (NG3K) and POTA / SOTA / WWFF activator spots
▸ Satellite tracking with ground tracks and footprints
▸ World grid overlays — Maidenhead, CQ & ITU zones
▸ Globe, flat, or Mollweide projection with live day/night terminator
▸ Installable PWA — phone, tablet, desktop

PropDeck in the browser. Companion in the shack.

PropDeck Companion is the desktop half of the deck — a free FT8/FT4 session tool that sits between your decoder (WSJT-X, JTDX, MSHV, Decodium 4) and the world. The live roster reads at a glance in GridTracker's colour language, never-worked DXCC entities and grid squares light up the moment they're decoded, and every fresh QSO flows to FT8 Battle, QRZ, LoTW, PropDeck.net and your local log — with the dupes filtered on the way through.
